Florence Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 quart warm water
  • 6 packages dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 6 tbsp. butter
  • 7 tbsp. lard
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. dry milk
  • 13 cups flour

Directions

  1. Mix warm water, yeast, and smaller measurement of sugar and let sit
  2. Once yeast dissolves and starts to work, add butter and lard. Mix well
  3. Add 1/2 of the flour and rest of dry ingredients and mix well
  4. Continue adding flour until dough can be kneaded
  5. Knead dough on board with remaining flour spread on board until soft ball of dough, not sticky
  6. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise till double in size
  7. Shape into rolls, place in cooking pan and let double again
  8. Bake in oven at 400F for 15 minutes
