Gingersnaps
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup soft shortening
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
Directions
- Combine sugar, shortening, and egg
- Add molasses and dry ingredients
- Chill the dough for a few hours or overnight
- Shape dough into 1" balls and roll into granulated sugar
- Place 2" apart on greased baking sheet
- Bake at 350F for 12 to 15 minutes
